WAKEBOARDING WORRIES:
JAKE MADDOX
Twelve-year-old Tess has big plans to cure her summer boredom—hanging out with her friends. But when her parents insist she spend a week wakeboarding with her cousins at Aunt Laura and Uncle Scott’s cabin, her plans go off track. Tess doesn’t know her cousins well, and even worse—she’s never wakeboarded. Will Tess find the courage to try a new sport and make some lasting memories with her cousins, or will this summer be a complete washout?
Wakeboarding Worries is available in print and ebook on Amazon Kindle, Kobo, Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million, and more.
An Excerpt from WAKEBOARDING WORRIES
"I don't know how to wakeboard, and I'll bet my cousins all do. I don't want to look stupid."
"You won't look stupid." Mom put her arm around Tess, but Mom's smile looked a little fake. "You're a good swimmer, and you love to skateboard and snowboard, right? I hear that kids who skateboard and snowboard are also good at wakeboarding."
"Why? Maybe the boards look alike, but standing up on a board on the water when I’m holding onto a rope sounds hard." Tess held up a hand when Dad started pulling clothes out of her dresser and piling them on the bed. "Dad, I can pack for myself. If I want to go to the cabin, but I don't."
Mom shook her head at Dad, who left the room. Tess crossed her arms. Right now, she just wanted to call her best friend, Ava, and tell her the bad news.
Because this was bad news.
